I’ll definitely bookmark this, some of this would be fun for my girls. We have these concrete stepping stones that they really want to decorate. Any idea where I can find safe, kid-friendly outdoor paint that will last?

Emily, I’m glad you found some ideas that work for you! It depends on what you mean by kid safe. I’m assuming you mean if swallowed. I did a little bit of research, and it looks like lasting outdoor paint and kid-safe don’t mix too well. The recommendations that I’ve seen say to go ahead and use the regular acrylic paints then apply several layers of an acrylic sealer. My only other option would be to check at a paint store/ lowes and ask if any of their outdoor paints (like for houses and decks) are kid-safe. If you’re not worried about them ingesting the paint, another idea would be to use glass/ enamel paints. They could paint the stones, then you’d bake them in the oven to set the paint. I hope that helps! Please let me know if I can provide any other info!

Thank you. You are most welcome, Crystal! I’m really digging the ice painting idea right now. Of course, the warm weather is a little encouraging for that sort of thing. Enjoy!

You’re very welcome! I love finding tutorials that are targeted or highlight boy things. They’re definitely less common, and with my own little guy, I definitely appreciate them. Thanks for stopping by!

I love that you found some inspiration. Kiddos love crafting. I always find the hardest part is figuring out what to do with them. I hope you all have a blast with your painting!!
